As the lead designer for Yango Pay over an immersive 1.5-year journey based in Dubai, I dedicated myself to reimagining the financial experience for users across Africa, particularly in Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana.
My role involved not only refining and modernizing existing functionalities but also designing innovative new features to better meet the specific needs of our user base.
Yango Pay: Seamless, Secure Payments for Everyday Convenience
Yango Pay is an e-wallet integrated into the Yango app, allowing users to easily top up their balance via mobile money and make cashless payments for rides. The service offers prepaid wallets for taxi services, supports cashless transactions, refunds, and balance top-ups through bank accounts.
Yango Pay aims to provide a safe, fast, and convenient online payment experience, particularly in African countries like Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire.
Empowering Communities with Quick and Accessible Financial Solutions
Additionally, a financial tool called Yango Pay Cash was developed for the app — offering quick loans designed to meet the needs of people in African countries like Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire. Yango Pay aims to provide a safe, fast, and convenient online payment experience tailored to the region.
Adding Emotion to Money Transfers
We’ve transformed the way money transfers feel by making them more personal and expressive. Users can now choose a unique cover for their messages to bring more emotion to their transactions. Whether it’s selecting a fun emoji, picking a GIF from the GIPHY library, or creating a custom AI-generated image, each transfer becomes more than just a financial interaction — it becomes a meaningful connection.
This feature allows users to add personality and creativity to every transfer, making the experience memorable for both sender and receiver.
